Lena Levi is an environmental engineer with approximately two decades of experience spanning environmental policy, regulation, resource efficiency, energy, infrastructure and implementation in Israel — working at the intersection of environmental science and engineering, government policy, regulation, industry and the organizations that have to carry projects out.
Earlier work includes preparation of the professional evidence base for Israeli policy development on electronic waste: environmental assessment, international regulatory review, analysis of the Israeli situation, regulatory and stakeholder considerations, and recommendations for policy and implementation. That sequence — environmental problem, evidence, international comparison, policy options, implementation recommendations — is still how the work is structured today.
Synergy4Environment is currently a solo, founder-led consultancy. Where a project needs additional expertise, it is carried out in collaboration with technology providers, engineers, legal professionals and other appropriate specialists.
Good environmental solutions frequently fail to reach the places that need them — not because they do not work, but because the distance between a solution and its application is filled with technical detail, regulation, funding structures and commercial risk.
We work in that space, in two directions. A proven technology looking for the applications, customers and pathway that fit it in Israel. Or an environmental, energy, water, waste or resource-efficiency problem looking for a workable answer — which may be technological, regulatory, economic or organizational, and is often a combination.
Our role is to make that connection concrete: define the problem, identify credible options, assess fit, bring the right parties together and help advance the result toward implementation.

Proven before promising
We work with technologies that have operated in the field. Novelty on its own is not a reason to deploy something.
Fit first
A solution has to fit real process conditions, utilities, operating constraints, economics and regulatory requirements — not just look good on a slide.
Say what does not fit
Being clear about where a technology is unsuitable is more useful than finding a way to make it sound suitable.
Toward implementation
The point of the work is a credible project or policy that reaches the stage where it can actually be decided on, built and operated by the right parties.
